@drahardja @ids1024 I believe they can regulate and fine them, but can't make it a criminal offense without the state law change. Basically, Public Works can issue a civil fine, but SFPD cannot.

Dave Rahardja (drahardja@sfba.social)'s status on Friday, 30-Aug-2024 11:59:21 JST Dave Rahardja I’m not sure how SF city code works, but why did this have to be a *state bill*? The problem seems localized to SF (and a specific BART station within SF). I can see why the state assembly would be reluctant to pass a bill that regulated street vending across the entire state, but was really made to address the problem that exists only within SF.
