     @wjmaggos - I agree with you on the need for Youtube alternative. But as to Rumble, well think you can say the founders and funders DO uniformly have an ideological bent, and that Rumble has become a home for all the far-right, fringe conspiratorial and hard-right content like no other. The owners actively promote that (unlike their token left leaning content) and that this promotion aligns with their ideological views.

     I don't like calling it far right. YT chooses what to promote with its algo and Rumble gives everyone an alternative. There is also further left content on there too. I'm not a fan of Rumble's ownership but until we win with #peertube and #owncast, I support there being any alternative to YT. Substack ownership has made bad choices but has all kinds of content too. We should be less partisan but more pro good tech re these platforms.

     I co-founded a video streaming startup that powered Rumble back in the day. The ownership were great partners 10 years ago. So much so they were part of our Customer Advisory Board.

     It’s shocking to see where Chris has brought this thing.

     There’s a reason certain content is not allowed on other platforms.

     They don't promote far right content. They promote center right content, and host far right content.There are few free "free speech" options for far right channels to go to when kicked from Youtube and Rumble is clearly the best of those technologically, except for the VC funding, paid creators, tracking, ads and enshitification.
