@sun@icedquinn I never noticed this until #Destiny (left wing streamer) took the position of #Trump being bad because he threatens democracy, but him getting shot before the election was, at worst, no big deal
@sun@realcaseyrollins really the thing to do about them is recognize them for what they are, deny their masquerade, and treat them like the combatants they are. :cirno_shrug:
libertarians often get yelled at for insisting that civil rights still apply to people society doesn't like. even though the whole purpose of precepts like rule of law and enlightenment ideals are exactly that the rules have to be posted for people to understand and the rules apply to everyone. in this circumstance you may be enraged at a favorable outcome simply because the ethics to arrive at the outcome were violated.
then there is the more common duplicitous normie arrangement, where "anything that helps me win is good" and everything the person says is just seeking approval for what their beliefs already are. it doesn't matter if people are taking pot shots at would-be world leaders because that person doesn't care about representative democracy in the first place, it's just a set of words that sound cool but ultimately mean "getting what i want by all means i don't have to answer for."
@realcaseyrollins there is rhetoric for it here and there. right wingers are typically politically incompetent though. they don't realize that lawfare wouldn't be conducted if the groundwork hadn't already been done and still cling to things like "winning it in the courts" even though "the courts" are largely rogue institutions.
i think the lefties tend to shoot themselves in the foot by acting hysterical over disagreements and getting in to organized bullying over shit almost nobody cares about. i speak to blue collar workers from time to time and the BRIDGE agenda to force political commentary on everything at all times just pisses them off more than makes them sympathetic.
