one of these days I'm going to convince @skylar to buy a mac and its going to be over something stupid like an AI model that puts out 0.000001% cuter fox girls
@Hoss@skylar@AGARTHA_NOBLE@sapphire I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.
Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.
There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!
@sapphire@AGARTHA_NOBLE well i want windows on both do you suffer from the same learning disability as the linux shills? i don't want to use a different operating system.
@AGARTHA_NOBLE@sapphire sorry i'm not interested in a toy laptop that can't even run windows no matter how cheap it is it's not about the price of the adapter, it's about having to find the adapter whenever you need to use any USB device i'm already mad enough that they've taken our ethernet ports and serial ports
@sapphire@AGARTHA_NOBLE hard pass wouldn't buy a base model anything wouldn't buy a macbook air wouldn't buy apple silicon, literally all the software i use is for x86
@sapphire if i got excited about something i wouldn't want to wait for delivery "oh it'll be there on thursday" too bad don't care anymore not ordering
@sapphire nah macs don't have high end nvidia cards and it would be really hard for you to do that because the apple store in my state is in a really fucking annoying place, one of those gay retard "walkable" shopping centers that just means it's a clusterfuck without enough parking
