I don’t think it’s particularly useful to follow the details of Trump’s ear in tedious detail. (Gun violence is bad, even if it was just a scratch.)
I do think it’s useful to remember — and to relentlessly point out evidence — that Trump is a congenital liar, a con man, and a ham who manipulates the press and people’s emotions.
It’s also useful to decry his break with the long-standing norm of the public receiving accurate medical information about candidates.

“It was just a scratch” is barely news.
“He lied about his injury, hammed it up, and both his supporters and the press made fools of themselves falling for it” is news.

I don’t think it needs to be that complicated. There really was a shooter. The shooter really did miss. The bullet probably did not graze Trump; either he got a scratch from shrapnel / debris, or somebody else’s blood spattered on him. The only conspiracy is that he hammed it up aftwards and people bought it.

@inthehands I dunno, the fact that his ear is clearly not damaged actually raises a lot of questions. The whole event has all kinds of weird crap around it already. Now we learn that he wasn't even hit but pretended his fucking ear got blown off? Where the blood come from then? If it's fake--how did he know to carry around a ketchup packet? What else about this situation is fake? I blew off the conspiracy theories but not because I believed they wouldn't do such a thing. Maybe I was quick

I prefer to let Occam’s Razor limit lines if thought like this. Stick with the simpler explanation until it doesn’t hold up — under •evidence•, not hypotheticals.

@inthehands Yeah, probably. But I wouldn't put it past them and the more comes up the weirder it gets. I think the question of whether there was even an actual injury is legitimate.
And was there a real shooter? This kid that is pro Trump shows up to kill him, totally misses, Trump pretends to be injured and they of course blow the kid's brains out.
Normally I wouldn't pay any mind to it--but with these people...nothing is out of bounds nor to be believed. If they thought it would work...
