      @kaia No, don't.

      Arch is a meme distro without freedom that is not suitable for production usage.

      Gentoo-libre is actually production ready, so you should install that instead.

      @kaia Last time I checked pacman was known for overwriting configuration files without asking and thus that often leads to a brick, as whoops, there goes your config.

      @Suiseiseki @kaia That's only if the package doesn't mark the file as a config file.

      @lucy It's cringe and proprietary pilled as I believe it defaults to the proprietary version of Linux and has no clear policy on what licenses are allowed.

      I can't find details online how to install Linux-libre with void and it appears that the xbps package manager doesn't have the functionality to tell you what license each package has.

      At least there's apparently a "nonfree" repo not enabled by default, but doing so allows all the proprietary software and it seems that a few packages in that repo are actually free, but are restricted by patents.

      @lucy That's like saying that taxes have no meaning if you don't follow the law - sure you may be able to get away with it for a while, but good luck when the government will find out, just like the patent rentior finds out and figures it can export money from you.

      @raccoon Ubuntu is cringe and proprietary pilled and if you really want oldstable, you want to install Trisquel.

      The FSF hosts with Trisquel and it works fine.

      @anthk Yes, Parabola is a replacement for Arch systemd/Linux, but it's not really suitable for production usage due to the design.

      There's Parabola for Arch Linux users. It even has instructions
      to replace Arch with Parabola in a 'live' way.
