     @tk Speaking of that, I walked with my dog behind a motorcycle blocking my sidewalk the other day and the asshole full blast revved it which seriously hurt my ears and my dog freaked out because it was right at her head. She probably got hearing damage from it. :argh:

     @tk @feld Apropos that... You may know that little prop airplanes are pretty loud, which is why everyone who flies them wears active noise-canceling headsets. And so, my tailwheel instructor lived in an airpark, and I commuted to his house for lessons. One day, I talked to his wife about living in an airpark, and she said: "It's amazingly quiet. We had no idea how noisy it was in the city until we moved here." I said: "But you literally live next to a runway where airplanes take off." And she said: "Yes, but that's only once in a while. The city noise is constant."

     @sun @feld @tk One time a friend with a seaplane was giving me a ride to pick up my airplane from a whope where it was painted. On the way there he saw a river basically in the center of Austin and said "let's splash down". So he landed there then took off. The shores were all built up with houses and I asked if it would not disturb people. He replied that he lived at a lake like that (only in a cheaper part of town), and "trust me, boats are 5 times as loud as this airplane." Admittedly he had a Rotax 912 engine that had a decent muffler.

     Avgas 100 was out of circulation for 40 years. The 100LL is the only fuel available worldwide. There's only 1 factory in the whole world that still makes TEL, in UK, and it's price is very high. Nobody would buy Avgas 100 if it were still available.
     
     Also, 94UL is around. Unfortunately, the nearest pump to me is in Dublin, Texas, which is an hour away.
     
     Either way, studies like that are constantly floating around. Some find the lead in children, some find no lead in children. The lead is going away no matter what, simply because the supply is not secure.

     That's not completely true. This article was from 2011 and it was still available in Hawaii until 2021 and still available today in Utah (Christensen Oil Co, for one)
