@BowsacNoodle @grey not based, you think this isn't gonna slip further? Ultimately it's the big monopoly telling you what you can and cannot buy as an adult now

@coolboymew @grey I have long said pornography should be treated at least as "unfairly" as guns, and guns are regularly debanked. This is more likely them trying to clean up their image for investment cash IMO.

@coolboymew @grey Etsy. I see payment processors as modern day coin clippers.
>3%+ phantom tax added on everything for the privilege of having a business, goyim!

@BowsacNoodle @grey Clean up their image how? They're a monopoly already, they literally own just about most of the world's market in payment processing?

@BowsacNoodle @grey Except that it's the payment processors that are leading the war on this

@coolboymew @grey Is it because of some law based on where they're potentially operating and accessibility of their sites to minors?

@coolboymew @grey I'll agree that payment processors have entirely too much power, especially as we become more cashless. I don't know if that trend will last though.

@BowsacNoodle @grey No fucking clue, but payment processors are fucking up the anime goods shops and indie games websites in Japan
Hobbysearch is literally removing their 18+ section in July

@Zettour @grey @coolboymew The question is why. It's not for morality, certainly. Adult related material has a much higher chargeback rating, so I'm told, but I'm not sure how that would apply to something like homemade sex toys. Is it the risk of them being dangerous, or even worse something associated with abuse towards minors?

@BowsacNoodle @grey @coolboymew The people running the payment processors are just opposed to the porn and gun industries in general.

@coolboymew @BowsacNoodle @grey I heard it's because Bill Ackman read some thonkpiece on the dangers of loli and made it his personal crusade as a billionaire activist investor to clean up the internet, Operation Choke Point style

@Zettour @BowsacNoodle @grey I heard a bunch of it is possibly due to some law, but I forget the details

@mrsaturday @grey @coolboymew I would never buy a "marital aid" from some random shop. That's weird to me to think some literally who person would know my name and address and that I purchased a sex thing from them. Even buying one in general would be weird to me.

I'm pretty sure they've chosen to go after "adult materials" in general since it's simultaneously something that won't see much defense from the general public (because "ew coomers!! :soy: "), and is vague enough to give them the means to pivot towards much broader censorship later on, by means of bullshitting about "obscenity". Visa and MasterCard already did this back in 2020 with their whole "crusade" against Pornhub, where they suspended them on claims of "distributing CSAM", then took the precedent that established and started annihilating any and all wrongthink they could find (they quietly reinstated service for Pornhub after the fuss died down too, so either they lied outright or they're fine with bankrolling CP distributors). It's very much deliberately targeted, too, since they keep posturing about dropping OnlyFans, or subjecting them to the same "no NSFW material" restriction, yet something always ends up "delaying" said actions, just for OnlyFans and nobody else. :thonk:

@Giganova8 @Zettour @grey @coolboymew Didn't pornhub get busted for having hundreds of videos of minors, including several of some sex trafficked minor who was declared missing for years?

@BowsacNoodle @Zettour @grey @coolboymew They probably just don't want non jew owned businesses making money off of it, even if that business is degenerate.

@Shadowbroker2135 @Zettour @grey @coolboymew I wouldn't be surprised if 'vice' monopoly is the angle for this one. I believe Visa's current CEO is the eternal Paddy (Irishmin).
