   Because I don’t hear this obvious theory stated often enough:

   The reason a lot of people are hung up on Biden’s age but not Trump’s is that Biden’s second in succession is a Black woman.

     “But Biden’s age” is just a tidy way to say you can’t abide the possibility of a Black woman being president without having to say the bigotry part out loud.

     Because I am at my most pedantic with myself:

     Yes, I realize it would be more accurate to say that Harris is •first• in the line of succession. “Next” would have been a better word choice.
