     As others have pointed out, there is not a great correlation between things getting bad and people "waking up" - the question you should ask yourself is why do you want people to "wake up" - so that they tell you are right? or .. because you want something done?

     @jb In a similar vein - if you have a problem with a business and you want them to fix it, you should always have in mind what you want them to do.
     
     Too often people take a feminine "you should tell ME what you're going to do to fix it!" - when if you just gave them a punishing correction, they would have done it just to not think about it.

     Unless they totally remove this spending when they lower interest rates, inflation is going to explode.

     Anything that "slightly" improves the system is capable of dialing up to "significantly improving" and thus will either be completely resisted or completely implemented.
     
     The 60%+ support for mass deportations is what pretty much makes it that way.

I also saw a very cute tradwife, the real deal, but we're not going to tradwife our way out of what's already happened.
     
     Four years of Trump is not going to substantially improve things. Best we can hope for is a slight improvement in some areas.
