"I use the wrong recipe so you are wrong"
nigga
also 4 and 5 are very much not minor technical differences, the cooking method is very much important to the food especially when it's something as different as baking versus frying on one side -- it's like saying a quiche and a fried egg aren't that different because the main ingredients are the same and the only other difference is cooking method
5 is also very much relevant, you split english muffins before eating them because otherwise it is unpleasant to eat them, which is not the case with crumpets

Points one, two, and three are rubbish. I use baking soda, and milk, in mine. Points four and five are just silly. It's a minor technical difference.
What savage makes English muffins with anything other than milk?
There's also the possibility that I've been making crumpets the whole time and calling them English muffins, because the recipe I have is from my gramma, who's from Sligo.

Cut an English muffin in half and see if they're not the same as a crumpet.

brother english muffins and crumpets are very different hh
they taste somewhat similar but the way they are made, the ingredients, and the resultant form and texture are different
crumpets are somewhat firm and bouncy with a crunchy bottom layer, english muffins more resemble ciabatta in a way
