There is an argument to be made that winning the war on teenage pregnancy (in tandem to extending adolescence well into our 20s) led in part to our current population collapse, but it's one I won't even touch since everyone who does always does it because they secretly want to fuck 12-year-olds.
@burner@Shadowman311 >Massive child tax credits >DINK tax >Bachelorette tax >Virginity stipends >State mandated GFs There's so many ways to approach the fertility and demographic crisis without "lower the age of consent".
@Shadowman311 Ok then... Keep the age of consent at 18, where people are right in the middle of high school, and already 4 years into their hoe phase. What could go wrong....
Oh, they finish school at 25? When the entire puberty is over? Well, it's time to work on a career, so doesn't matter. Family can wait, right? :clownworld:
@Shadowman311 I once worked with a guy who had a freakish level of knowledge about the dynamics of adolescent marriage - I don't remember much other than the unease, but it seemed like it's all taken care of with parental permission. Repair the family unit and it's not a problem at all: Good parents wouldn't allow an unhealthy marriage, and they're the best judges in looking out for their kids, case closed.
It's such a pointless argument to have, of course it's used as a wedge issue because it welds together a little bit of every weird subculture's hot dispute topics: Marriage, pedophilia, feminist nagging, sexual morality, 30-yo "adolescents", revenge against bitter roasties, etc
@WashedOutGundamPilot@Shadowman311 Yeah, I completely agree. This topic is so toxic, that there is no civilized way of debating it. Sadly, it crosses way too many broken issues, and everyone sees only one side. -_-
@Shadowman311 This wouldn't even be an issue if people weren't treated like children well into adulthood. People refer to 22 year old college students as "kids" nowadays. We live in retard world
@WashedOutGundamPilot@Shadowman311 Btw,it doesn't even matter, that I went several times into details, about the fact, that I don't see age of consent as a core of a fertility crisis, but instead it's the education system.
Both people have their lives lined up hour by hour for 2 decades. No wonder they cannot form a family under such insane conditions. But, if that wasn't enough, then the lost cost fallacy kicks in, and women STILL don't care about family until they spend at least 10 years at work......
But as soon as I mention, that the puberty begins around 15, that is all that most people hear for some reason. Even though I am explicitly complaining about most serious dating beginning at the age of twenty five FFS!!!
