I didn't know this, and it's almost like absolutely everything from Afrocentrism is fake, there is no real bottom.

@sickburnbro To be fair, most "traditions" (even among Whites) are fabricated in some way or another.
People generally have the memory and attention span of frogs but they long to be part of things happening in centuries.
"Traditional European clothing" was created in the 19th and 20th century. Before that time peasants wore whatever they could find/produce, and rich people wore the latest fashion (which changed every few years).
There's also one culinary scholar (the real kind, not as a replacement for "nigger"), who got death threats in Italy, for pointing out that most signature Italian dishes are only a few decades old.
BTW: The famous Swiss cheese fondue was created by the marketing department of a Swiss cheese production conglomerate...

@quercus tomatoes which seem huge as part of italian cuisine are a new world food and thus not older than ~1500. But the key is that italian food isn't really all tomatoes and the tomato more elevated what what already "italian".
Traditional European clothes have always existed - those companies simply drew on the existing culture to create their stuff. Dyes and weaving have existed for a long time; many times only the upper class had nice clothes - but all the peasants would see the local nobles on fest day.

@sickburnbro Native Americans didn't make beads. They traded for them. All that crap in museums is as authentic as my MDF kitchen cabinets.

Hold up.
Doesn't this fall under the auspices of "cultural appropriation" ?
