@Pineywoozle @galad @TonyStark @saunders @flyhigh But heaven forbid any policy-oriented Democrat running in a primary in a seat they primaried themselves into: "Shill!" "Rigged!" "Workable policies are betrayal!"
@galad Didn’t imply that Bernie was “the leader” of anything. People can primary anyone they want but in an election year where we desperately need a working congress I have no respect for anyone who promotes the idea that it’s better to easily push out a decent Dem than it is to take that same money & effort & attempt to turn a purple seat blue. That BS is straight from the original JD web page & Bernie has put his whole hearted support behind their candidates. @TonyStark @saunders @flyhigh
@TonyStark @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh She is implying that Bernie is somehow the leader of Progressives.
@TonyStark @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh "If he put in a tenth of the effort getting Dems elected instead of bashing them and encouraging Progs to attack safe seats because it’s an easier win than going after a bad R I might have some respect for him. The world doesn’t need rhetoric, it needs results."
Maybe you keep glancing over this?
@galad @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh Where is that saying “he’s the leader of” well, anything? It doesn’t. Sorry, not interested in this.
I agree with her statement, anyway.
@galad @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh Ok, you didn’t say that. Not interested in shifting the conversation in this way.
Yeah, people can primary whoever they want. Works both ways. I don’t think the 4 years thing is particularly accurate, either. But like I said, the argument you’re trying to argue against wasn’t made. It’s hard to have a talk that way.
@TonyStark @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh My point is that Bernie's entire goal for the past four years has been to push the Democratic Party to the Left, and so far he's been successful. Running candidates in primaries is exactly what's supposed to happen.
@TonyStark @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh The person I was replying to in the thread.
@galad @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh Ok, maybe there’s something I can’t see but it looks like you’re replying to Piney and she definitely didn’t say that or imply it.
@Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh @TonyStark Lol this again… How can you seriously suggest that Progressives actually follow any leadership? Do you not follow any of the discourse on the American Left? It’s a circular firing squad. Bernie at best represents the Leftward flank of what the center of the Overton Window currently is in the US. He’s reflective of a broader consensus, but he isn’t the leader of those people.
@galad @Pineywoozle @saunders @flyhigh Who suggested that?
@saunders If he put in a tenth of the effort getting Dems elected instead of bashing them and encouraging Progs to attack safe seats because it’s an easier win than going after a bad R I might have some respect for him. The world doesn’t need rhetoric, it needs results. #farL @flyhigh @TonyStark @galad
