  google ended up just slapping some neural network shit on an algorithmic coder iirc. nobodys really beaten that, although its proprietary (closest clone is lpcnet which got close and then people gave up on or something)

  Oh I'm just reminiscing. When I used to work on the actual equipment, there were so many things about the system that nobody knew, and it was like magic to actually read the manual and understand it.

  For the most part my repo kinda has a brute force approach, but I don't think it's really working smh
  Doesn't have the voice coder though, I'm looking at that for the first time

  Oh it's hard! REALLY hard! I'm getting my feet wet with ardop but I really look forward to working with other modems with higher thruput.
  
  Remember you can use alsa loopback devices and gnuradio to simulate a signal path, live, with variable fading and any kind of noise you can imagine: or record the noise on an SDR and replay the IQ file though a mixer!
