   it's weird thinking about how the military and the apollo program quickly switching to adopting ICs almost as soon as transistors were just beginning to hit mainstream production, basically instrumentally guiding and fostering the entire electronics industry in the us that the tech sector still basically coasts off today, where electronics basically completely died in europe just due to only having consumer demand and them completely giving up and relying on us imports. nowadays the us military is still really behind in software and even tech devices with super bloated and outdated defense projects, or complete failures that anyone could have told you before the project even began like the ivas. there is a saving grace though, if investors could get their heads out of their asses with ai, we could be on the verge of a breakthrough in robotics and the us army likewise has another opportunity to massively put the us ahead by swinging around consumption of their giant war machine into an area to rejumpstart us innovation in an area that lines up nicely with the us's very clear deficit in manpower to give us maybe even a fighting chance for the rest of our [expunged] nation to fix its massive issues
