   As I said, there were SEVERAL preeminent Economists who appeared on that thread. Murphy answered one question & was schooled by a few of them who agreed with each other, & then he disappeared.

   I looked up his MMT theory & studied it, & I can say I've never heard such a pile of tripe in my life! He was the main reason Jeremy Corbyn was laughed at

   Murphy advocated the BoE printing trillions of pounds & putting them in circulation as his economic solution! 😳

     I've heard of it & understand the broad outline of GERS, but I don't profess to be an expert on the subject.

     @AnthonyFStevens @Theriac @CloudyMrs @soren Please have a look. There are obvious issues, the allocation of revenue and taxes, the allocation of nominal interest rates on Scotland for ‘borrowings’ that are imposed by Enland and others.

     The claim that ‘Xitter' demolished Murphy is itself laughable. I would suggest that for (different analyses - for that is economics) you might look at the IFS explanation. Then apply the levers an independent Scotland would have.
