     People SHOULD be wary of media hype. They got that part correct.

     But anyone trying to claim that y2k wasn't a real danger to all of us is either a) too young to remember and is trolling or b) trolling. 😒

     True, this.

     I personally made sure the ICCS emergency phone system used by several police forces, ambulance services, fire brigades, and the coastguards did not fail because of #Y2K. Believe me, it would have failed.

     Y2K... turned out to be a nothing burger because programmers like my husband worked relentless overtime to stop it from happening... the bug was very real in heavy industry (he programs industrial scales & automated factories)

     be wary of media telling you "nothing to see here!"
     reporters mostly don't know beans about industrial tech
