@sun @Remi Disney's been part of anime longer than I've been alive, but generally in the background for Ghibli stuff. The Fireball series is amusing and solely Disney, if you count 3d-CG targeted at Japan. I think they have done some streaming only things alone too, but I don't pay much attention to those.

@Zettour @Remi ghibli stuff is translation and distribution of already-finished works by a completely separate company, they don't have any direct input on the original work. The whole thing is at arm's length, even Miyazaki literally called it "a deal with the devil". I assume that pressure from Western distributors on smaller companies that heavily rely on them has happened but we don't hear much about it.
Anime has "Westernized" a lot in my lifetime but I chalk this up more to instant international communication because of the Internet.
