The timing of the ScotGov meltdown is disastrous for loads of organisations around the country who never had their funding offers for the year finalised before it all went to shit.

Mrs Cloudy (cloudymrs@mastodon.scot)'s status on Friday, 03-May-2024 06:34:56 JST Mrs Cloudy @radiojammor the departments seem to be on hold until they know what's happening. Funding for the 24/25 financial year was just being confirmed. Some were finalised just before the melt down. Others seem to be sitting in limbo. We're into May, so that makes it hard for orgs working year to year to know how long they can keep staff before putting them on redundancy notice.

Radio Jammor (radiojammor@mastodon.scot)'s status on Friday, 03-May-2024 07:43:29 JST Radio Jammor @CloudyMrs Hmmm, I don't see a good reason why departments should be delaying things. Has the Scot Parly been held-up at all? Is ScotGov not continuing as normal? There's no imminent election. As HY is technically still FM, and won't go until he is replaced, there's no real prospect of Scot Parly being timed out as not having an FM and needing an election.
At times like these I'm reminded that it is a UK civil service, not a Scottish one. -

Mrs Cloudy (cloudymrs@mastodon.scot)'s status on Friday, 03-May-2024 16:03:27 JST Mrs Cloudy @radiojammor 100% a UK civil service. It isnt working for Scotland in any way that i can see. I was thinking that maybe there was a bit of bet hedging about an early election. Maybe things will start moving again if JS just slides into post. I also think they are waiting to see what Green commitments could be dumped and cash reallocated.
