     @dominiksteiger @HistoPol One would think making it obvious that attacks don’t make a difference would do that.

     But I think the actual sources for escalation of this conflict lie elsewhere.

     For example, it could also be thought that the escalation started with Israel for bombing Iran’s consulate.

     I have no love for Iran and I wish for their oppressive regime to swiftly end. But I have even more concern for not following international law.

     I agree.
     I'd go even further re/ "deescalation," though:

     The #MullahRegime needs a face-saving "victory" against the aggressor, at least for it's populace.
     Telling the world and rubbing it in that "you accomplished nothing" will only anger the Mullah Regime further, as well as a big part of the #Iranian people, against #Israel and the West ("Death to America!")
     IDF and Netanyahu Regime: tone it down, better STFU!

     ...Also, the "ironclad support" must be within the framework of international law: if the Netanyahu Regime clearly is the aggressor or escalates situations beyond any reasonable retaliatory measures (#Gaza, #IranianConsulate in #Syria,) it cannot be that the West defends #Israel against--reasonable--retaliation.

     It is like the nasty small guy on the playground that hits others and then quickly runs away, hiding...

     Yes, Israel's right to exist must not be questioned and must be defended.
     But we all know what happens if "some animals are more equal than others."

     The Netanyahu Regime and the IDF personnel must face justice at the #ICJ; so must #Hamas and #Iran for its probable act of piracy.

     ...nation hostage is, IMO, a casus belli. Portugal should consider invoking #NATO Article 5.
     The mass delivery of #Iranian drones to #RussiaIsATerroristState causes enormous hardships in the #WarInUkraine. The West is footing the gigantic financial bill.

     Sounds reasonably true.

     However, w/o telling him to desist from further escalation or else...it will not work.

     Besides, "Bibi" is the guy who embarrassed mighty Ronald Reagan twice with severe acts of aggression. (Interesting #TheEconomist pod last week--paywalled.)

If Israel responds expect Iran, Yeman, Lebanon and Syria to attack and much more heavily than last night. And only eejits believe a world coming from the IDF or OSINT
