     @shibao there are close to 200 countries on earth, how many of them have designed and produced their own computing hardware from the ground up
     
     having someone else produce the actual physical chips is acceptable

     @shibao as far as I know soviet espionage in computing didn't amount to much, and the fact that despite all their resources they decided to abandon domestic development just strengthens my point
     
     they did, however, build functional computers before giving up in the face of rapid western innovation

     It's software library is also 100% different and the sceners hang around on TG and do shit like "write Bad Apple for it"

     @KnifeEar @shibao @deprecated_ii Yugoslavia, Australia, possibly Brazil as well under others. Notably absent from the nations who have made their own computers (as far as I know) is anywhere in the Middle East or SE Asia. Also Taiwan is a completely glaring omission from your list, but I guess an understandable one considering the overlapping claims of sovereignty between Taiwan and the PRC.
