crazy to me that i'm 25 and i'm just now finally starting to live the lifestyle that i had been wanting to live ever since i was like barely conscious
it feels long to me but maybe it isn't, it's just kind of funny how it feels like it's taken way longer than it needs to just because my parents' livestyles were so incongruous to my own

rocc@misskey.bubbletea.dev's status on Monday, 08-Apr-2024 04:31:14 JST Rocc @shibao I was just thinking this the other day. I think it's a point everyone goes through that they're making enough money and are old enough that no one cares what they do. (More importantly, it's the point when you start doing what you want to do because it's what makes you happy, takes a while to figure this out too)

受不了包 (shibao@misskey.bubbletea.dev)'s status on Monday, 08-Apr-2024 04:32:39 JST 受不了包 @Rocc i feel like the "oh my twenties were great" vs the "my thirties were so good" is really just whenever you get here, maybe if you're complete normie and you are also normie then in your 20s you don't need much change and so then the others are like "yeah i had to eat shit for a decade so my thirties were great"

Just the fact that a better future is possible is great rn.受不了包 likes this. -

Mer's pizza Mer's world :blobcatgooglytrash: (mer@cdrom.tokyo)'s status on Monday, 08-Apr-2024 04:48:02 JST Mer's pizza Mer's world :blobcatgooglytrash: @shibao @Rocc simply medication, first for depression then for ADHD. The ADHD part really hurts because I spent 18 fucking years trying any solution but medication and blaming myself for failing. And then the super scary "amphetamine" med that they don't want to give you turned out to not make me feel buzzed and just turn off the self sabotage part of the brain. 受不了包 likes this. -

If you made it to adulthood and learned to somewhat function you "have some ADHD tendencies but not enough to do a definite diagnostic".
What worked is I told them I got some meds from someone else and they did good. -

prettygood (prettygood@socially.drinkingatmy.computer)'s status on Monday, 08-Apr-2024 06:37:53 JST prettygood @shibao I spent a lot of years just trying to stay afloat while my wife worked through medical and mental issues, finally finding a medication cocktail so she can be stable and find a career. Sadly two incomes are required for the type of life most people want to live these days, that's just reality. But once we got there, I was able yo handle a car payment, help my parents, buy a house, settle into healthier patterns, etc. 受不了包 likes this. -
