@gnu2 I try not to pick fights with other Christians, and I don't think the origin of KJV invalidates it. People get really into the weeds over stuff. My go-to is NKJV just for ease of reading and accuracy, but I will sometimes use BSB or whatever else is convenient.

I think this will hit the KJV-Onlyist guys harder than anyone.
Imagine making a case for your translation only for someone to reply "King James? I thought it was authorised by Donald Trump?"
RIP.

@fuat2mb @Crux_Invictus I am not a KJV only guy, but I think it's a pretty interesting one. Every denomination or church has their quirks and that's probably one of the least bad ones.
>sorry, we can't adapt our Bible to current year ideological leanings because it's hard codified 500 years back with gendered language and a fairly accurate translation.
Decent defense mechanism, particularly in this era.

@BowsacNoodle there's plenty of reasons to prefer the KJV, but the Indepent Baptist idea that since it's "authorized" means it's the only English translation that's valid, is kinds crazy, and even more so when you realize it was authorised for a "church" that was established soley so the king could get divorced I mean come on!

@gnu2 I like NABRE, but I've never looked at cpdv. I don't know what version my Catholic study Bible is, but I love the references and annotations.
