Man, I went on a blocking spree. I guess I accidentally went fishing for Nazis on Masto by posting this: > "I don't care about race, creeds, bloodlines, land, sacredness, homeless, nation-state, country, ideology, religion, colonizing, genotype, phenotype, minority status, language, or affiliation... Can't keep your land or can't keep your people or culture alive: you're losing it. You're fucked. Never ask your conquerer for concessions: they lie." Then a #MastoNazi feeding frenzy and BLOCK!
@chris I used to not care about many of these things. Choosing to ignore the tools others regularly use for their own benefit is just handicapping yourself. You don't have to hate others to love your own, although some make it very hard to not hate them.
@chris Fedi is one of the few places left on the internet where a man can speak freely, and that's a two way street. I regularly see things critical of my own beliefs or directly insulting me, and that's what I signed up for. There are enough echo chambers in the world already, and I don't want another one. If you desire that, block me and pickup a fedi block list while you're at it. I occasionally use those words, but I don't overseason my language. You and I have had respectful exchanges plenty of times in the past, and if you find my occasional criticism of jews for their reprehensible behavior indicative of "trogdolyte" behavior, then so be it. I value truth more than anything else. No hard feelings brother.
@BowsacNoodle I just don't like seeing those words. If you use those words you're probably not very kind, smart, or friendly. It's my line in the sand of unacceptable language. Also, telling me to kill myself is also a lovely little red flag as well: troglodyte.
@chris Blood and soil are a real part of people at almost, if not actually, a genetic level. Research has shown genetic connections to beliefs in things like nationalism, disgust reactions, etc. It's never going away, and it's best to acknowledge that reality instead of trying to supress it with lies of kumbaya unity. There are many many steps between dislike of a person or group and genocide, and somehow the only people who understand this are the ones who are, per Nuremberg code, actively being genocided albeit at a softer almost opiate esque way. Curious, don't you think?
@BowsacNoodle But: can't keep your ancestral holy lands — or win it back — though shit, you've been evicted. Conquered. Can't keep you tribe alive or you language alive or you religion alive or culture alive: you and the majority of world history's tribes, languages, religions, and cultures. Nobody who's ever subsumed you, your culture, your religion, your blood line, your genotype, your phenotype, will ever actual restore it to the: just words of respect, never actual respect.
@BowsacNoodle Here's a question: if a white middle American family adopts a Chinese daughter from birth, is that family obligated to send their daughter to Chinese School, to Cantonese language class, etc, as part as their obligation to her Han blood or should she just be brought up as a middle American girl?
@chris >if a white middle American family adopts a Chinese daughter from birth, is that family obligated to send their daughter to Chinese School, to Cantonese language class, etc, as part as their obligation to her Han blood or should she just be brought up as a middle American girl? American. One of my best friends was adopted. I support Americana-ism, but the idea has been abandoned. Embracing diversity meant a disregard for any sense of monoculture; this was done deliberately to undermine American traditional values and heritage (White Americans and our culture). The is/ought problem comes to play here though; just because I think people ought to get along and strive to be American doesn't mean they will. Evidence suggests they won't, or at least most of the younger ones have abandoned the idea, particularly non-White types. It is conservative to attempt color blind tolerance, which is sort of funny to think about.
@BowsacNoodle I'm on Mastodon for exactly those reasons. People block me all the time. And since I have my own instance, I have some protection against people's reporting me (always people on the extreme left or even NPR liberals) because I have the audacity of posting "oppo" news from RT, Sputnik, al Jazeera, Epoch, etc.
@chris >Maybe it's being socially engineered. But that's also always been a strategy. Right? Kings have always done that. No? Indeed it is. The pain point is it's being done by people claiming it's democratic or to that it won't have any negative impact on the country. Both of those things are lies. You cannot have socialism and open borders. You cannot have social programs designed around the needs of a native population while pretending that population doesn't exist or have its own interests. I do not "hate" others, but I love my own people. That this concept is seen as foul to some types (not you) is reason for me to distrust them. To put it simply: I and many others who share adjacent views aren't okay with cognitive dissonance nor the demonization of questioning it as various shades of 'problematic'.
@BowsacNoodle I agree that there are physiological and genotypical and phenotypical and intellectual differences between people I'm just saying that if you can't get or keep or reclaim your land, culture, language, religion, then those things will be subsumed. Even Germany is freaking out about how German is dying. The Dutch have come to grips. Maybe it's being socially engineered. But that's also always been a strategy. Right? Kings have always done that. No?
@BowsacNoodle It's not unique at all to America. I lived in Berlin from 2008-2010 and while I was there, Angela Merkel demanded that everyone who received residency received mandatory culture and language and civil rights and civics classes. Full cultural assimilation was demanded under the auspices that migrant women and wives were being held as chattel by their husbands and Merkel mandated that these women know their unique rights as women in modern Germany. Didn't quite work out at all.
@chris I find it odd that "shitposting" is treated by the press as serious and threatening when it's done by people that don't espouse neoliberal viewpoints. I cannot imagine anyone saying their webpage visitor count is "a win for racism worldwide" as anything other than a joke, and people who read into that have bad motives and a desire to libel their political enemies.
@chris I was more than a bit sarcastic in that opening sentence. Claiming Graf is a Nazi is a dumb attack on Trump because of Alex Gleason's connection to Poast (we're big, so we're a good place to see issues and feature test).
@BowsacNoodle It's not odd at all. They need to work overtime in order to prove to the vox populi that there are legions of jackbooted Hugo Boss wearing white supremacists hanging black people, Mexicans, and Muslims while also burning crosses in an infinite number of front yards. There aren't any so they need to be manufactured and it's east to do online with all the clearly racist, terrifying, white supremacy that's loud and proud on the Fediverse.
@BowsacNoodle I don't deny that every single little ideology is sacred and that humans will look for any and every single little tribal differentiator in order to make them special. Everyone hates identity politics. Well, I'm American, so I guess everyone loves identity politics. But I hate it. I think pride really sucks. Pride based ideologies actually scare me. Pride is a terrible thing to be proud of. I see human terroir as the silliest thing ever—yet nationalism and tribalism is everywhere.
@chris I used to think the same thing, truly. I found it a losing premise in a game where everyone else is using pride as one of their tools to get what they want. There's no honor in losing "fairly" when your opponents cheat.
@chris In that case, I agree with you. A lot of fellas on this side of the scene have a strong appreciation and reverence for accomplishments of our ancestors. It is not the same as haughtiness or love of the self, although there is a strong overlap. Race worshipping is what some here will call the problematic manifestation of that, which is something I do not support. Salvation comes from Christ's blood alone.
