American. One of my best friends was adopted. I support Americana-ism, but the idea has been abandoned. Embracing diversity meant a disregard for any sense of monoculture; this was done deliberately to undermine American traditional values and heritage (White Americans and our culture). The is/ought problem comes to play here though; just because I think people ought to get along and strive to be American doesn't mean they will. Evidence suggests they won't, or at least most of the younger ones have abandoned the idea, particularly non-White types. It is conservative to attempt color blind tolerance, which is sort of funny to think about.
