   Don't tell me trans and queerphobia is only coming from "the right" because I'm tired of hearing it. This is about a 16 year old nonbinary kid, who was beaten by 3 girls in a school restroom, and ultimately DIED of their injuries the next day. It wasn't a school fight, and they didn't "get into an altercation" - they were KILLED for standing up for a trans friend in a state with normalized queer phobia as POLICY. This is the AP story, which means DOZENS of "liberal" papers ran it JUST like this.

     There is so much wrong here it's infuriating. The victim blaming is practically in every line of the headline and subtitles. "Who died" no, was murdered. "Got into an altercation" - like maybe Nex is partially responsible for their own murder right?

     Don't bother telling me you folks care, because I hear the way you talk about queer people and I know it's not true. Get absolutely fucked.

     Pray that the murder of YOUR child is never described as a passive incident they may have caused themselves

     Leave it to the ASSociated Press to write pieces that pander to both the semi-"liberal" notion of "Gee, how tragic, poor girl got killed. Stuff happens!!" and the "conservative" notion of "She got what she deserved for flaunting her 'lifestyle' in front of normal folks!!"

     @AnthonyJK @salad_bar_breath Not trying to derail your larger point, and I know you're not trying to be a way here - but Nex was nonbinary. "teen" and "they/them" not "girl and "she."

     No offense even taken....thanks for the correction.

     At one time I was like most noobs who didn't understand the "they/them" flag. I was educated pretty quick when I mistakenly glossed a non-binary as "she" rather than "they".

     Always growing, always learning.

     Then again, knowing the AssPress as I do, they probably would be the first to misgender Nex as "she" because they, like most establishment media outlets, aren't interested in anything but pandering to the dollar.
