Except for facts! Belief in facts are not malarkey. The fact is we can learn about meaning for life by learning about the facts of life, including biological, social, and cultural.

“If every trace of any single religion were wiped out and nothing were passed on, it would never be created exactly that way again. There might be some other nonsense in its place, but not that exact nonsense. If all of science were wiped out, it would still be true and someone would find a way to figure it all out again.”

Our brains are hardwired to find pattern and construct a system of survival. We need to find meaning, because it helps us navigate the reality of the physical environment.
We impose meaning that is not there, societal structures, institutions, belief systems, and philosophies. These are all human values and wishes that centre on our survival, both as individuals and as part of larger groups. The universe doesn't care. All beliefs are malarkey in terms of the universe. -

Just because you don't believe in myths does not mean you have not found meaning in life. On the contrary, meaning based in fact is infinitely more meaningful than than meaning based on malarkey. The moral highground is found in respect and caring, not in fear of a god.

That's lying not being mistaken. Sometimes there's an overlap between being morally and factually wrong, but they're not dependent on one another. -

That's true too, but would you agree that it's not particularly moral to pretend you have an invisible friend that has power over others, whether they like it or not? That's the moral dilemma not if believing, but of telling others of that belief.

"Once atheists accept the meaninglessness of it all, and stop trying to take the moral high ground, they will be at ease." This statement is specious IMHO. Atheists are the moral high ground since all theists are atheists with respect to other gods.... -

Once atheists accept the meaninglessness of it all, and stop trying to take the moral high ground, they will be at ease. There is no moral high ground, only the illusion of humans wishing there was some eternal standard of justice, love, good and evil. -
