Everything at #QOTO is now fixed and the all queues are response again. Sorry for todays slowness, but we found the last of the problems from the migration and now fixed that as well.

Basically really short audio upload works e.g. 30secs - but not much more, like 10mins audio fails
Same as above but bit more detailed as tests below:
█30secs audio OK, uploads and shows thumbnail (it's own embedded or without)
█10mins audio NOT OK, doesn't upload
(goes to full upload) but at end gives 422 error about building thumbnail (I tested with media that does or doesn't have it's own thumbnail and both fail / give 422 but seems it's more a file size thing)

Sounds like it is just the file size limit. This didnt work before either right? So far we only migrated we didnt start the updates yet, thoughw e are about to.

Can see #FreeSchool hashtag for example for many longer audio and I think you gave me permissions upto 100mb (might have changed though but I'd like again)...

@freeschool I dont think there was ever a length of time restriction, but there is certainly a audio size limit. I cant imagine we ever allowed 1/10th of a gig media on this server. All media is retained so across tens of thousands of users that would be an insane amount.
For large-format stuff we have other services better suited for that.
However if you find there is a change in maximum file size from the old server I can look but all the configs were ported over so I doubt that changed in any way. My guess is you are just trying to upkload higher quality and thus bigger size.
I can create a federated pod cast instance though.

I literally can't do that now. It's literally around 1mb now...

@freeschool Ok then that sounds like it may be a legit issue. What exactly is the error you get?
IT may be that our streaming service has a bug or something.

I suspect the mastodon settings may have not changed at all but it might be some other system setting that is limiting it somehow.

Nope. Again in other words:
<1mb audio upload works
>2mb audio upload fails:

@freeschool Yea. I have an idea as to whats going on, but i cant test it until we get a staging environment. which is what we are working on now. Our system admin is trying to set that up, once its up we can bug fix in that.
I need a bit of patience as we now have funding and will be moving forward quickly again, but there is a LOT to do to bring this to the level we want on the new infrastructure. Probably a bout a week stagging will be smooth and then within 2 weeks the updates and fixes start flowing.

Thinking of another way... Maybe a privacy respecting paste bin to link to might work... if it's super simple and works with MyPal browser.
Do you have one already I can use and upload to (a simple interface not needing modern browser)?
Just as a temporary fix (as you definitely need more time)
Often other paste bins are temporary and horrible privacy everywhere (business) but if easy to spin up your side and works on my old browser then I'd try it
(I actually don't want to push more stuff for you to do - but just to get me rolling basically if really it's easy and ticks me 'simple' boxes!)
Or simple like SFTP/SSH style thing again without external interface just login with client and drag and drop. No-faff interface so I could upload there and link to it...
I know you had the idea of podcast platform but is basically above paragraph but with more faff. Simple upload is the way :)
