@branman65 Boomers are a cautionary tale against living to work rather than working to live and against treating your wife as a roommate who raises your kids.

@King_Noticer @branman65 So true. The two become one flesh. The third arm aspect is a bit odd phrasing but funny nonetheless 🤣

@BowsacNoodle @branman65 Marriage is meant to be a sacred covenant that bind you, body and soul, so you should be treating them like a part of yourself
Like a third arm that you have sex with :chud:

@FourOh-LLC @branman65 It's sad because I've seen people I know and love turn into "wife bad" boomer caricature after a few bad hands dealt their way. Life sucks sometimes, but vows are eternal and that means good times and bad. It's not like either party can call themselves blameless when that happens either, and unfortunately a lot of it falls on the men for spoiling their wives materially without focusing time and love towards them. Social media really screws with boomers like a second form of TV... it's odd.

Looking at the younger generations - "hold my beer".

@King_Noticer @branman65 At least I don't ever have to worry about running out of things to talk about since getting married. As a bonus, most wives come with a really good calendar function and will remember tasks for you.

@BowsacNoodle @branman65 Hm, you're right, they're probably more like a second mouth that never shuts up :akkoCultured:

@branman65 I will say having grandchildren is like giving them a second chance to partner at the task that was mostly handled by one of them, especially if they're retired and still together. It's neat to watch from the perspective of a parent as your own "parent" them in a different way. I've learned a good bit watching my folks interact with my own kids.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. One of those things is people painting with wide brushes and coming up one-size fit-all solutions.
Every time I read "boomers" I remind myself of the pain coming for their generation.

@FourOh-LLC @branman65 It's going to be real. I can't wait to be blamed for stuff that I protested against and voted against and did everything in my limited power to prevent to be blamed on me.

@King_Noticer @TheWanax @branman65 Mrs. Noodle is one of a kind. We're not helicopter parents and it freaks some of our friends out, but raising resilient kids was more important to us than raising perfect kids who could tick every box for a system that has its best days behind it. I'm more of a systems guy and she's more of a details gal, so it works great.

@BowsacNoodle @King_Noticer yeah your wife is your wife. you are one flesh, you are one bios, she is not ole Mary Jane Rottencrotch the hippie slut you used to fingerbang in her pretty pink panties back in woodstock (said Ms. Rottencrotch died on July 15, 1977 after overdosing from black tar heroin at the age of 30) she is not your roommate, she is your wife
