lot of unfriendly underground/cave dwellers on greenland from the lore. i doubt byrd was lying or fabricating stories especially when the expeditions became national interest military endeavors that could be repeated indefinitely without having to scrounge for funding from some benefactor or museum. makes more sense that the military and the ones who control info have squelched the knowledge. especially since they have basically banned anyone from launching their own private expeditions to the inland.

however, i have no doubt that some volcanic activity could go unnoticed and that things could have been geologically different in the 50s when they were down there during those expeditions
but i dont think you're going to find iron sky 2 tier stuff unfortunately
another reason to go to greenland rather than antarctica, besides the logistics and costs, you can take a dog team out in greenland, but they're banned in antarctica, plus maybe you'll get the chance to shoot a polar bear in the north, its just penguin rookeries that apparently stink so fuckin bad, in the south

@koropokkur I truly think the globe has a natural climate change pattern every 20k or so years and we may be at the cusp of one. I think that’s what created the Sahara barrier.

@Constantine2nd @koropokkur if you've got about 60k you can do just about anything you want
the russians will fly you basically wherever you want, you can take a bunch of cruises that will take you on shore as well, but its just a very dangerous place for the sheer lack of help, even the few bases on the continent can't help you most times if the weather is even remotely shitty
check out the old periscope films stuff on youtube about byrde and the us army's shenanigans down there, pretty cool and legit stuff
tbh if you're looking for a cruise for your wife, do an alaska cruise if you're american since you dont have to deal with passports and international travel, or do a north greeland or like svalbard trip
or just go to northern iceland, driving around the country in a 6 person rv is the tits
