lot of unfriendly underground/cave dwellers on greenland from the lore. i doubt byrd was lying or fabricating stories especially when the expeditions became national interest military endeavors that could be repeated indefinitely without having to scrounge for funding from some benefactor or museum. makes more sense that the military and the ones who control info have squelched the knowledge. especially since they have basically banned anyone from launching their own private expeditions to the inland.
