however, i have no doubt that some volcanic activity could go unnoticed and that things could have been geologically different in the 50s when they were down there during those expeditions

another reason to go to greenland rather than antarctica, besides the logistics and costs, you can take a dog team out in greenland, but they're banned in antarctica, plus maybe you'll get the chance to shoot a polar bear in the north, its just penguin rookeries that apparently stink so fuckin bad, in the south
