Sexy Moon (moon@shitposter.club)'s status on Monday, 01-Jan-2024 00:42:56 JST Sexy Moon @meso @vriska Gonna just say that sexual promiscuity isn’t inherently wrong but it inherently entails a lot of risks that sex positive just brush right over. -

meso (meso@the.asbestos.cafe)'s status on Monday, 01-Jan-2024 00:42:57 JST meso @Moon @vriska it's like the term tries to make being sexually promiscuous the "right thing" and progressive ("positive" as opposed to "negative"). I mean I don't care much about it I think whoever wants to be sexually promiscuous should be able to be but it's quite a shitty thing to play with words like that. idk some post on this SHIT board made me think about this -

Sexy Moon (moon@shitposter.club)'s status on Monday, 01-Jan-2024 00:53:29 JST Sexy Moon @thegreatape @meso Regulation may or may not make it safer but it doesn’t eliminate human trafficking and exploitation unfortunately. Kind of bristle at the idea of calling a trafficked kid a “worker” but not sure the term is really meant to encompass that -

thegreatape (thegreatape@thechimp.zone)'s status on Monday, 01-Jan-2024 00:53:32 JST thegreatape This is the same logic that triggers me about the phrase "Sex Worker". Like I don't even want to shame actual prostitutes, but calling every single one a worker implies they are "just clocking in" when the reality is there's a million reasons someone might end up in that "line of work", a lot of those reasons not being very good! And their "job" might involve being assaulted, physically / mentally / sexually. Not a fan personally! Unless it's regulated it's probably always going to be bad. -

Sexy Moon (moon@shitposter.club)'s status on Monday, 01-Jan-2024 01:05:31 JST Sexy Moon @thegreatape I watched a documentary years ago about amsterdam and they showed these parking stalls on the outskirts for illegal prostitutes. they're almost all trafficked foreigners. A lot of people want young girls. The law can't supply that so there's still an illegal market. The city can't fully stop it so they do things to try to make the illegal activity less dangerous. -

thegreatape (thegreatape@thechimp.zone)'s status on Monday, 01-Jan-2024 01:05:32 JST thegreatape Yeah really the only thing regulation would really do is possibly put SOME accountability on SOME people - but obviously people will work on the outskirts of the law anyways. We have legal weed basically across almost all of America, but most people probably still buy it from a dealer illegally. I imagine the same applies for paying for sex. You probably wouldn't want to pay someone who puts you in a ledger of clients lol. -
