Suppose that is true, but what a shame that given a golden opportunity for progressives to actually band together and build an open social media alternative, they are going to another corporate billionaire silo. It's just so frustrating. These are very smart people. They understand the forces at work in society these days. We are not going to get another chance at this.

💯% the #Fediverse is exactly the opposite of the ult-right funnel that #Elmo created with #X and #TFG tried to generate with #TruthSocial.
I find it particularly disheartening that #PoliticsGirl isn't active here, as she is advising #POTUS on #SocialMedia.
Dems need to be #Progressive in the type of #SM, too.
#Billionaire platforms are detrimental to #democracy.
This is a huge chance to recollect democracy-minded people on one platform.

That said, it it understandable that they would be seeking out the largest audience alternative, and Threads will certainly provide them with the kind of algorithmic boost that they are accustomed to. Perhaps at some point they will join you here. If even as a secondary account.
Just want to thank you again for your contributions to this community. It is much appreciated, and contributes greatly to the strength of Mastodon as a platform for news and legal analysis.

It is my understanding, that something like that has been in existence/in the final stages of development (the developer posted here some weeks ago).
This guy is using the ubiquitous #ActivityPub protocol to access different platform, if I remember correctly, but I don't remember the details.

@Teri_Kanefield @HistoPol I’d agree with that hypothesis. Folks who are concerned about outreach tend to focus on the platforms that provide the best opportunity to get their message in front of a lot of people. Maybe one day there will be a tool that allows cross-platform posting that supports Fediverse so that it lowers the friction of posting to an account here too. I’m way out of that game now, but there used to be tools that did that for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. accounts, supported scheduled posting, and such to allow a nice way to handle a presence. Anyone know what the current hotness is for that kind of thing? If so then maybe we could put in feature requests to those developers.
