@Teri_Kanefield @HistoPol I’d agree with that hypothesis. Folks who are concerned about outreach tend to focus on the platforms that provide the best opportunity to get their message in front of a lot of people. Maybe one day there will be a tool that allows cross-platform posting that supports Fediverse so that it lowers the friction of posting to an account here too. I’m way out of that game now, but there used to be tools that did that for Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. accounts, supported scheduled posting, and such to allow a nice way to handle a presence. Anyone know what the current hotness is for that kind of thing? If so then maybe we could put in feature requests to those developers.

@saper @GossiTheDog @kravietz @PlaneSailingGames What it sounds like is that how a user configures the security around passkeys is important. Using the Apple example mentioned previously, iCloud Keychain security1 is what protects passkeys, if I'm reading this stuff correctly. So a user who cares more about security than convenience is going to take extra steps to secure iCloud Keychain like using two-factor with Yubikeys. And by NOT doing that, the security of Keychain isn't that great. [1] https://support.apple.com/guide/security/icloud-keychain-security-overview-sec1c89c6f3b/1/web/1

With the iCloud Keychain, users can securely sync their passwords between iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices without exposing that information to Apple.
