They also forcibly relocated some of the communities to break up ethnic churches in Yugoslavia and other countries around the area outside of Russia proper. The whole thing is a historical 💩 show and I do not blame anyone for being cautious of rejoining under one major authority if they can otherwise coexist fine with self governance and shared communion.

The centralized authority of Rome could be argued as a bulwark against big gay infiltration of church policies, but it makes a singular target for centralized infiltration. I legitimately think the *Lavender Mafia* exists and blackmail is a big deal with pushing political angles of things. Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Emeritus, and Cardinal Sarah appear to both be victims of politics within the church.

As Ecumenical Patriarch, the see of Constantinople is regarded with honor by the other sees, but not subordinated in authority. Decades ago, some people made t-shirts or a banner or something with "BIENVENIDO PAPA" on it for a visit from the Pope to their city. This has happened so many times that you now see stories deboonking photoshopped images made in parody. It did in fact happen. Linguistic rules changed now too so that if you have "Papa" capitalized as a proper noun, it's assumed to be a reference to The Pope. First I heard of this was 30 years ago.

      I don't think I would, though I would rather be dead than deaf. Being blind I can still talk with people, the core human activity. Being deaf adds a language barrier to nearly all people.
