The centralized authority of Rome could be argued as a bulwark against big gay infiltration of church policies, but it makes a singular target for centralized infiltration. I legitimately think the *Lavender Mafia* exists and blackmail is a big deal with pushing political angles of things. Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Emeritus, and Cardinal Sarah appear to both be victims of politics within the church.
