You can subscribe to any PeerTube channel via any podcasting app.
1. Go to a PeerTube channel
2. Click on arrow on right side of "Subscribe" button
3. Copy the link from "Subscribe via RSS" option (if you're using a phone, long-press and select "copy link")
Use this link on your podcasting app.
For example, on Apple Podcasts:
1. Go to Library
2. Click ⋯ in top right
3. Select "Follow show by URL"
4. Paste the link
PeerTube lets you upload video or audio, so it can host any kind of podcast.

REASON FOR REPOSTING:
On previous post, there was a disagreement over who had responsibility about nasty content on PeerTube. This was all legitimate discussion and not the problem.
The problem was when some people who agreed with me started saying nasty things about people who disagreed with me.
That's just horrible, there's never any need to do that, and I wouldn't want to be associated with that.
I'm sorry to the people who were receiving personal insults.

Also apologies for allowing discussion of the topic itself to get heated, I should have tried to keep things calmer with much more diplomatic replies.

The worst part of the thread was seeing someone who agreed with me being toxic towards someone who disagreed with me.
Horrible to see that, I didn't want to feed that situation. I'll try harder to prevent such situations in future.

@feditips I’m sure it was pretty mild as far as barbed responses go around here. In any case and as someone who runs accounts that are severely shackled to decorum as well as ones where I have some independence, I find the ones where I’m allowed the occasional clap back, are ones I get more respect in.
I trust you know the right boundaries for this account. If you feel the need to occasionally let a user know that your job isn’t to be their punching bag, I expect that most people will get it and respect it because it’s not the norm and you’re doing what you do with the utmost professionalism otherwise.

@feditips It would be amazing if it just automatically created an audio only feed for this purpose. So many videos could just be audio, and would be great to be able to listen to them while out and about.

At least in Apple Podcasts, if you play a PeerTube video it's audio by default with the video playing in a tiny preview. If you click on the video it expands to the full screen, but you can just ignore it. You can even lock the phone and it carries on playing just the audio.
(But, of course, other podcast apps may behave differently.)
One thing that may help is PeerTube's roadmap plans to separate the audio and video streams in 2024, which might allow audio-only subscriptions?

@feditips Thanks for the info! Even if you can just listen to it, I'd prefer to not spend the electricity and bandwidth on downloading the video if I'm not going to watch it. I'm glad to hear about those plans, hopefully that will make this possible :)

If you're following via Mastodon, all you have to do is copy the PeerTube account's address into Mastodon's search box. No need to log in again.
There's a "copy" button next to the address on PeerTube exactly for this purpose.
