@icedquinn@blob.cat but yeah string lights often help a lot. ikea utsund are good
i recommend these because they’re WAY better than the generic chinatrash. chain of 24 takes 1.3 watts and should last a very long time because they’re not driving those LEDs to their absolute limit
@mia we have some chinatrash rope lighting. i was just being hassled about it again a few minutes ago :blobcatpensive2: i like the rope light where the leds are inside the actual plastic tubing though. feels a lot less junky than a bare circuit strip slapped up there.
thought about getting one of those lights that is meant to treat SADS and hiding it behind a monitor or something for a sun glow. also found one of those monitor illuminators that sticks to a desk that might be worth looking in to (lifter desk, so it doesn't get along well with the standing lamp in there.)
some combination of rope & desk mounted light & some standing unit might do it idk.
@bonifartius@qoto.org@icedquinn@blob.cat i bought a SAD therapy lamp a while ago and it turned out to be pure placebo so now it’s just a slightly inconvenient worklight :cirno_shrug:
these are gonna be like installing retail lighting in your home lol. way too bright, looks like ass AND attracts insects
@icedquinn@kaia Getting it less depressing is usually relatively easy... Just switch of the ceiling light and drop some smaller lights here and there..
In one of the edged of your room. Maybe something on the windowsill.
Get some RGB lights if you can so you can control the "tone" of the room more easily.
Experiment with the lights, as often as you like whenever one lamp starts to annoy you. ;)
