Weird!
Mind you, we get so used to our home surroundings.
A few years ago I was astounded to learn that there are places in the world where there are not litter fees on things like pop bottles or beer cans - any beverage container. Such refundable deposits have been in force where I live for over 50 years by now. -

Is there a deposit on wine bottles in BC? It seems strange to me that we don't have one in Québec, but maybe I'm just confused. -

Wait, hold up... I've been returning wine/liquor bottles at The Beer Store for years.

Am I missing something?

Bob Jonkman (bobjonkman@mastodon.sdf.org)'s status on Monday, 23-Oct-2023 04:34:46 JST Bob Jonkman No deposit on soft drink containers in Ontario either. There IS a deposit on beer bottles and cans, but nothing for wine and liquor bottles.
Sometimes pop cans are stamped with "Deposit fee required in xx, xx, xx" - I don't recall which provinces, but Ontario is not one of them.

I don't know - I'm in BC. Do they give you money when you return them?
