     Meaning a fuckton of effectively spammy reports making the really nasty ones harder to find.

     @a1ba Not that mastodon really helps in giving the proper tools for moderation at scale, even today it still seems to be very much a manual operation.
     
     Usually the spammers at least using unlisted messages though, or worse direct messages.

     @lanodan let's be honest, it wasn't that hard to find on the late pawoo. I once opened their public timeline and there were nasty messages, that contained links to encrypted IMs.
     
     They were literally bad at moderation.

     @Zerglingman @a1ba I'm not saying that Pawoo had good moderation because it didn't.
     But that you have to factor external reports being known-awful plus Mastodon not providing appropriate tooling for a continuous stream of messages (where you need to be able to set powerful filters), nor even appropriate for a massive amount of messages (aka backlog/history)
     
     There's only so much humans can do, or are you forgetting how awful *all* other gigantic mastodon instances are at moderation?

     @a1ba @mint The driving force that makes KF KF is Null owning it to trollshield and deflect attention from his own history. With Null out of the picture, KF proper would have no compelling reason to exist although I have zero doubts that groups *like* KF would, probably for equally asinine and contrived reasons.
