     Christian Rock (yes, really) > Glam Rock > Grunge > Emo > Rock > That super brief period of Polyphia and Progressive Metal > Rock > Can't Get Enough Promise Ring, Alkaline Trio, Turnstile, Movements, and Jealous Sound.

     @killyourfm lol mostly like shifted more towards the pop-punk and then alt-rock stuff. A bit of everything but less straight “emo” than a decade or two ago. 😅

     @killyourfm @cassidy lol , I started in christian rock too (gotta love growing up in religious households) but by about high school music was a constant. I was constantly picking up new bands and genres (and still do) starting with emo/screamo/punk/alt. Then getting some modern and prog metal, Folk, EDM, lofi and about everything in between. Pretty much the only thing I didn’t/don’t listen to is country. Some bluegrass is cool, some western is ok too but pop country for the most part sucks imo.

     @brainofdane @micah @cassidy Oh wow, you're bringing some of it back into focus! I had a couple of Charlie Peacock tapes and um... I did an Amy Grant mock rock concert with my neighbor when I was 13.

     I feel like we all need to start a podcast or a support group.

     Also, how could you mention Michael W. Smith without Steven Curtis Chapman, Amy Grant, Jaci Velasquez, Charlie Peacock, Switchfoot, Jars of Clay, etc.

     My 90s playlist was waaaay different than the other kids.

     @killyourfm @cassidy Man and I thought I was the weird one that had Christian Rock while I was in school. Ngl there was Red, Thousand Foot Krutch, Switchfoot, Skillet, Kutless, 12 Stones, Jars of Clay, POD, Newsboys, Stryper…. These are unlocking memories for sure. Lol. I swear a lot of these rock bands were just using the Christian record studios to get their music out without much competition.

     @posiris @cassidy I have so many crystal clear memories of my time listening to Stryper, all the way down to the look of the cassette, and the way the j-card smelled (like a corn tortilla...)

     When "To Hell With The Devil" came out, I was in such a (brainwashed?) state of mind, that I thought them singing "to hell with" was the coolest, most risque thing a Christian rock band could do.

     Until The 77s had the AUDACITY to release a song called "Pray Naked."
