     i understand why, i understand when your community is already small and not widely accepted, it is difficult to admit when a bad actor is in your midst, but it just makes the whole group look worse to defend them.
     
     to give a non lgbt example: furries do this. when the kero stuff came out, many furries banded together and defended kero and pals, despite evidence of their sick dealings. to my eyes, and to many people's eyes, that makes all furries guilty of the crime
