Seawhite standard 7.5x3.5cm. Perylene Violet. Aqua Elite no2 and Cotman 00.
The sky didn't rain down as far as I meant. And there was a hair or bit of fluff on the fron left hill, wet paper is easily damaged, in the removal of said fluff, so ye get a big dark tree.
No sure if the flight of dragons is heading from or to the castle. Defenders or attackers.

Having let the puddle of fake Velvet Black dry I thought I'd fill the rest of the actually half postcard Aquafine I started with.
It's still greeney, but these came out well. More monochrome, and ye get a hen. Was gonnae add a dragon to that sky but a hen, a cat *and* a dragon seemed like over egging the splodge. So it's a funny tern.
If I want very dark and green I have the Terre Verte Brulée, so it seems a little redundant, but it was an interesting try. And given snobby attitudes and implications of quality, the PG7 is Cotman student grade, and the PR264 is Winsor Red Deep, pro grade. And they mix fine.

Roman Szmal new colours includes velvet black. Made of these pigments, PR264 and PG7. Sort of works but has quite a greeney tinge. Flooers and a cat to see if it works. Wonder if the pro one is greeney or better balanced.

The most dramatic granulating paint I have is Przybysz's Grey. So dramatic seascape it is.
Partly Karen Rice's recent video, which I've only viewed the thumbnail of! And partly Ondine de Perretti on Instathing saying how much she likes granulating paint and an abstract seascape.
Big for me, this half postcard Frisk (cotton). Wet with big filbert fir coverage. Then very dilute wash of Pthalo Blue, bit more at sides, before putting in big plume of the grey and some lighter streaks, I was able to add more, paper not dry yet. This with Prolene One-stroke 1/4". Used. Aqua Elite no2 and more grey for dry brush sea. The space for waves was looking good so built on that. Used Cotman 00 and more grey when it was dry for boat and birbs.
Sometimes you get lucky and the idea works first time.

Split damn you! Splittin trees and a ghostly hen.
Half postcard Aquafine, synthetic squirrel no4, Pro Arte zero for hen and flooers. Tree on left is Autumn Green with various amounts of water. Tree on right is Serpentine Genuine. Both have Burnt Umber trunks. Very watery Autumn Green hen, so she looks pale and slightly otherworldly, being green notwithstanding.... Ultramarines -violet on left, pink on right with their greens.

Nyoooo paint, last of the seven I got from Jackson's last month.
Roman Szmal again, Autumn Green. Intended to split/granulate. It's sticky, not fully dry in the half pan and clumps up a bit when you try to get madstone on small brush for details. I have other paints do that, W&N Olive is one, so it's not just RS binders. Still nice though!
My new standard testcard, half postcard Aquafine, Pro Arte no2. Autumn Green, comparator is RS Hooker's Green. Vine Leaf for stems and leaves, the flooer on the left the stem bled from the autumn! Great split on the wet circle. Slightly sticky hen.

It is scorchio! So here's coolio flooers.
Quarter Aquafine, synthetic squirrel no2 and Pro Arte zero. Started with Cobalt Turquoise (the 3), then Aqua Green rose, then the blue blobs, Cotman Turquoise. Which with blue is quite greenish, but shockingly blue here. Next vase in dilute amazing turquoise (PG50). Stems and leaves in Caribbean Sea.
No they aren't all the same. Really. See?

Dodgy composition, too much space at the top and ran oot the bottom . One day eyeballing it will improve.

Here be Aquafine paper by Darker Rowney, 100% cellulose, good paper but not cotton. Used frequently even on this format of testcard, which might be better for testing paint than paper... Half postcard, Pthalo Blue, Pro Arte no2. Pthalo Turquoise for 2nd rose. Vine Leaf green.
And together with the Frisk. No cauliflowering on the Frisk. Brighter colours on the Aquafine, layers dry faster so glazing is brighter on flooers.

I have spent some time watching YouTube videos of paint drying. No really. Today, specifically A. Gallo Italian handmade paint in greens and blues.
Copper Blue has white in bit otherwise pigments I have already. As I always find, if I can get a pale colour mix I can't get values. If you have the half pan convenience mix that is more likely. But pastel shades with white not really my thing.... Schmincke PY3, and PB15:3, with Cotman PG7. Down the left, them the attempt at dilute which is sort of good but the flooer is a fail. Tried a seascape with it and it's quite green (my grey there too).
Also tried PG50 aka Amazing Turquoise with the same yellow, also sort of interesting, but hard to get darker bits. And the palest, with white, of my new greens Willow. I have two whites put away PW5 and PW6, is PW4 somehow magic?

Mind I said Holbein Lilac widnae dae fer a hen? Thought I should put brush tae the dried blobs of tube Cobalt Violent (W&N) and the Lilac fer flooers, and there wis a wee hen size gap.
Quarter Aquafine, synthetic squirrel no2 and Cotman 00. Cobalt Violent on the left, both Algae green. And a Lilac hen right enough, no a meringue.

It's another, 'if ye didnae know whit it wis, ye wouldnae know whit it wis', but the colours are sort of right.
Quarter Frisk (ok, for wet in wet, rewet, big skies, cotton is better, and this is good, which is just as well, I bought a big pad of it.)
Pinky (art philosophy fluorescent pink) mixed with Quinopthalone Yellow. Pthalo Blue, Jane's Grey. Mostly Pro Arte no2 bit of zero. Knockin o'er yer wee clean water jar disnae help. Pro tip fer ye's. No damage.
I think the achievement is it's done, at all. Considering.

Big brushes.
Mop, cos it holds a lot of water/paint. Quill is a pointy mop. I have two, small of the type, but still very large fer me wi ma wee bits paper. Casaneo 0, and Jackson's Raven 10/0. Which are both about a round size 8. Shuge.
I don't understand them in relation to what I do. So I used one today to wet and rewet my sky. Then thought I should try big flooers and the pointy top.
Half postcard Aquafine, pinky and Spanish Moss. Cobalt turquoise and balsam. On the rest of the paper I tested my colours on. Lik ah know whit ahm daein!
