   Fwiw, and you will have to do the search engine/source reading on your own, but it's come up a few times and I think the reason British transphobia takes on that particular character is that its normalization as grown out of a cracker reactionary stalking-horse movement called "rational skepticism" that was united around the writings of guys like Rich Dawkins to do totally "progressive/liberal" Islamophobia and shit. That's where the TERFs met "libertarians" who'd grow into the fash.

     The techniques mastered to do cracker supremacy and reaction, in the open, under the guise of liberal "rationalism" with the thinnest veneer of "science" by that "rational skeptics" movement, have been mirrored perfectly, by the TERF Island anti-trans movement in mainstream British live - which is unsurprising, because many of the same personalities, organizers, and funders, are involved in both "movements."

     @stavvers @AnarchoNinaWrites @ancient_catbus honestly even a disagreement about who is or isn't racist should never drive someone to become anti-intersectional because that's a problem with the application of those ideas at worst, not a problem with the core ideas themselves. So if something like that drives you to become anti-intersectional it kinda indicates that you never really believed in intersectionality in the first place imo.

     @AnarchoNinaWrites @ancient_catbus in short, it's genuinely because a couple of journalists (white cis women) at the new statesman got upset because a Black woman called one of them out on being racist. They became anti-intersectional and, from there, it was a little hop-skip-jump into transphobia

     @ancient_catbus @AnarchoNinaWrites I was there at the time, and can pretty much offer a full accounting of how it started and where it started - it's link to the skeptic movement but the roots are a bit deeper and ultimately even more fucking pathetic

     @stavvers @AnarchoNinaWrites @ancient_catbus re that parenthetical: how do these people not realize they sound utterly absurd and transparently resentful??? Also I will forever stand by the fact that the hate directed at cis bisexual women — which is so incredibly common it's crazy — is absolutely Jealousy on the part of men because they know that bisexual women are not stuck having to date men, I'm so men can't get away with being misogynist slobs with bi women.

     @anarchopunk_girl @AnarchoNinaWrites @ancient_catbus oh yeah, 100%, and these people were a bunch of proper white liberals who had never encountered the topic right up until they got called on racism. Then biphobia. Then transphobia. (I forgot about the biphobia phase, there is a new statesman article which invented a whole new slur for bi women - smugsexuals - and claimed bi women are trying to "fuck away their privilege)
