     In the Halo series I'm expected to believe the UNSC still uses the exact same NATO standardized ammunition in their service rifles 500+ years in the future, but also believe the military finally moved on from AR-pattern rifles. Lol. Lmao.

     @Goalkeeper @Hoss @synapsid I remember back when the F2000, Vector, MP7, P90, AN94, etc... were the primary mythos of 2000s-early 2010s small-arms futurism. People actually thought those would be the weapons of the 20s and 30s but instead we're getting a more stale version of vanilla Arma 3 firearms.

     Why did Russia make the AK-12 which is just a shittier AK instead of keeping their AK-103 / AK-105 and just mass producing zenico machined gas tube rails and dust covers. Accomplishes the same exact goals (but better) and they can keep the cross platform compatibility which was the whole point of the AK 100 series to begin with
