   After 47 years my eyeballs needed some glasses. The sense of relief I feel now is immeasurable. I didn’t realize just how badly I needed them until putting them on and observing the dramatically clearer world around me.

     @killyourfm Did the same earlier this year, got shortsighted in one eye over the past few years so that everything beyond 2 meters became blurry. As soon as I put on my glasses, the world returned. As an outdoor person, I can’t overemphasize the joy this brought to me. Enjoy your glasses, the true windows to the world for middle aged gents like us 😉

     @cdevroe For me things gradually got blurry up close. What i didn't realize is they were also degrading at a distance too. I just didn't notice it that much, or I started compensating and "accepting it" instead of doing something about it.

     @killyourfm Were things hard to see, blurry, “seemed small”? I feel as though my vision is just fine but sometimes I feel things “seem small”.

     @helio I hear you. I think we sort of "compensate" or gradually get accustomed to it, without realizing how bad it's become because it happens in small increments.

     @killyourfm@layer8.space I get that feeling, I got my first pair of glasses when I was 16, and last year I realized I wasn;t able to play JRPGS on my TV anymore and got a new pair of glasses to wear full time. Never realized how blurry the world was to me for the first 20 years of my life.
