Just to make this clear to the non-Germans amongst my mutuals: there were not "10s of thousands" on the streets against #fascism in #Germany but 100s of thousands, probably around 1.4 million in total. The largest demonstrations since reunification.

@killyourfm Did the same earlier this year, got shortsighted in one eye over the past few years so that everything beyond 2 meters became blurry. As soon as I put on my glasses, the world returned. As an outdoor person, I can’t overemphasize the joy this brought to me. Enjoy your glasses, the true windows to the world for middle aged gents like us 😉

@killyourfm I would probably stretch that a bit to the late 90s/early 00s, when 3d first and third person games became the norm (see Far Cry in 2004), with at times fantastic storytelling (see KOTOR in 2003). But yeah, there seems to be a general sense of "new game in town" every year in that time. And new in the sense of "I‘ve never had anything like that before“. From the mid-00s onwards, games seem to become more refined, better visuals, sounds, mechanics, but not exactly breaking new ground.

@killyourfm Not to say that there aren’t fantastic games in the past 20ish years, quite the contrary, but it seems the dramatic innovative leaps and pure novelty that was so strong from the early to mid-80s onwards is gone.

@NaN @atomicpoet A friend of mine was "caught" in an Antenna although they had their post unlisted. That’s why I was asking.
