@pfefferle For now, I could enable ActivityPub for my author only when I'm creating comments. 😅

Colin Devroe (cdevroe@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 14-Nov-2024 22:07:27 JST Colin Devroe @pfefferle That makes total sense. Thank you!
So, is there a way to restore the “reply on the fediverse" link for my user despite having ActivityPub turned off for my author? (I know, I'm a huge pain!)

Colin Devroe (cdevroe@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 14-Nov-2024 21:48:52 JST Colin Devroe @pfefferle I can confirm that is the case... If I open my blog in an incognito window, I see the “Reply on the Fediverse" link... but I do not see WordPress' default "reply” link. Unsure why.

Colin Devroe (cdevroe@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 14-Nov-2024 21:48:52 JST Colin Devroe @pfefferle I believe the "reply" link on comments is missing after a recent update to the ActivityPub plugin. I can write an issue if you think that could be true?
Could it be related to my author not being active for ActivityPub? Also, why would the default WordPress reply link disappear (instead of just the federated reply link)?

No urgency here. I suppose I can enable ActivityPub for my author profile for now. Perhaps in the future there can be a way to pull this off.
Oh, while I have you, do know if there is a way to retroactively _delete_ a profile on ActivityPub? I realize each instance would need to know. But say I wanted to delete @cdevroe@cdevroe.com ?

I can confirm that if I have the blog profile on, but ActivityPub off for a specific user, the blog profile does not post. :(
Should I file this as a bug? I'm not sure that it is a bug though. I don't know what people's expectation would be in this circumstance. My guess is that they would expect it to work the way it is working now.

Colin Devroe (cdevroe@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 10-Oct-2024 02:33:54 JST Colin Devroe @pfefferle @cdevroe@cdevroe.com I see. My goal is to have @colin be MY account. But, if I turn my author profile off it doesn't post as me. So I have to keep both on. But I don't want @cdevroe@cdevroe.com to exist.
By the way, if I'm asking these questions in the wrong spot, please let me know. I don't want to bother you.

Colin Devroe (cdevroe@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 25-Sep-2024 21:54:27 JST Colin Devroe @pfefferle @alexstandiford I understand the purpose of the crossbooster but I think it would be unneeded if the WP-ActivityPub-powered accound became a "real" AP account w/ follow feed + migrations. Because then I wouldn't need an account on a Mastodon instance at all.

Colin Devroe (cdevroe@mastodon.social)'s status on Wednesday, 25-Sep-2024 21:43:21 JST Colin Devroe @alexstandiford I’ll defer to @pfefferle but I think progress is being made on migrating followers. But I am unsure about the feed part... I'm curious too.
I just installed the ActivityPub plugin on my site and I've been doing some experimenting. It is very exciting. A bit messy. And an interesting time. I'm really looking forward to seeing progress being made here and may try to contribute some.

Colin Devroe (cdevroe@mastodon.social)'s status on Monday, 23-Sep-2024 23:57:42 JST Colin Devroe @pfefferle @ton 😅 I totally get that! It is just how WordPress "handles" authors more broadly that makes a single user site get muddy this way. But it is usable!
